When we do our Montana road trip every year, there are many times when we never leave Dillon, Montana. From Dillon we fish 5 different floats on the Beaverhead River, we walk into lower Poindexter Spring Creek in the evening and also hit the Big Hole, Ruby and upper Clark Fork. That is variety.
Depending on the time of year you can fish salmonflies, PMD, BWO and Trico mayflies, crane flies, caddis, hoppers, nymphs and streamers.
Dillon has several fly shops with great guides. We usually stay a couple days at 5 Rivers Lodge and feast like kings
