Metolius River Bamboo Rod Fair

 

The date for this years show is Saturday, 16 July.  We chose this date for a couple reasons.  First, hopefully we’ll beat some of that beautiful Central Oregon heat.  Second, and probably more importantly, we won’t be competing with the City of Sisters for any other events.  The Chamber of Commerce does a great job of promoting events, and we have been conflicting with the Arts and Crafts Fair and also the Hot Rod weekend.  Both these events area on the same weekend as us and are very well attended.  Because of the popularity of both of these events, there are no spare rooms to be had in Sisters.  Now we are nestled in between the Quilt Show and the Hot Rod Show.  In the past I have talked with folks at our events that have had to stay in Bend and Redmond. 

            The big scoop for this years show is the addition of Jason Borger.  If you don’t know, or have heard of Jason, then you might have heard of the movie “The River Runs Thru It”.  Jason was the guy who did all the casting for Brad Pitt.  Jason will be here performing demonstrations of all the cool casting techniques he used on the movie.  Jason will also be here holding private classes for anyone who would be interested in learning these techniques.  Please see attachment for that info.  During the show, and between demos, Jason will also be signing copies of his book, “Nature of Fly Casting, a modular approach”.  He will also have copies of the movie poster as well as some of his own original artwork for sale.
