(BEND, OR.)—Just when you thought the world of film had abandoned the subject of Angling, we find ourselves in the rare position of being wrong. Because, let’s face it: nothing good has come out of Hollywood since A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. But now, some bright film geek has hatched an idea and Fisheyesoup.com has found its way into the world of cinema (without the typical, shameful casting room groveling normally required). When a staff member of a Hollywood film production team saw the Fisheyesoup website on the Internet, she knew that it had a place in the upcoming Sony Pictures film, “Catch and Release,” which features a plot line as tight as a sink-tip on the Umpqua. She contacted Fisheyesoup.com guru, Kevin Jurgens, to see if the site could be used in a scene in the lead character’s guide shop (yeah, we’re serious.) We figure it’s only a matter of time before the site is asked to star opposite Brad Pitt in a romantic comedy called, “Soup du Jour.” The film, starring Jennifer Garner, Juliette Lewis, Kevin Smith and Timothy Olyphant is still under production. The writer / director is Susannah Grant, who wrote scripts for “Erin Brockovich,” “Ever After,” “28 Days” and the upcoming “Charlotte’s Web.” This new opportunity highlights just how much the Mighty Web has infiltrated all aspects of our lives—even our fishing lives. And Fisheyesoup.com is at the forefront of the fishing world’s place on your computer monitor. Those armed with Fisheyesoup.com’s web technology and easy-to-master websites are being discovered daily by thousands of unique visitors. ABOUT FISHEYESOUP.COM Fisheyesoup.com was started by Kevin Jurgens and Greg Freeman, of Bend, Oregon. Armed with extensive experience in web development and, of course, fishing prowess, the two combined forces to create a major web portal site devoted to all things Angling. Fisheyesoup.com now boasts an ever-growing international membership of guide shops and outfitters, who are taking advantage of the Internet’s captive audience. For more information on how to meet Hollywood’s newest “It” guy, please call Kevin Jurgens at 541.420.4828. He might send you an autographed head shot. ####
