Navajo Lake - July 24th, 2004

Navajo Lake is fishing great for carp as well as early top water bass, pike fishing is slow and will start to pick up this fall. Fished the ant fall on the lake this year and had a client pick up a 25" brown that was up on the ants, what a thrill to see that fish and wow what a fight!
Red River - March 16th, 2004
supplied by: The Reel Life FISHING: Poor Red River: Runoff with the warm weather will bring a lot of "milky" color. Sometimes this can make spooky fish less spooky, but generally it's better to wait untill it passes.
Albuquerque Drains - February 19th, 2004

Not a wilderness experience by any means, but some really technical fishing. These are a whole group of clear-running drains--not irrigation ditches--which funnel spring seepage into the Rio Grande and host smallmouth bass, green sunfish, brown trout and the occaisional planted rainbow trout. If you need a nearby winter challenge, wear your knee pads and try a drain.
