McCloud Reservoir - July 1st, 2009
supplied by: SC Guide Service RECORDED:95 °FISHING: Great
McCloud Reservoir is fishing very good right now. Its not hard to limit out, simply trolling a Sep's dodger and a Seps 2-inch grub will do the trick. Trolling slow .7 to 1.3 mph in an S pattern will put the offering in the right zone. The trout ( Rainbows Brookies and Browns) can caught trolling in depths of 15 to 35 feet, all over the lake. Trolling k-7 kwikfish near the bottom will give you a good shot at the Browns. First light until the sun hits the water is the best time to go or later in the evening as the sun get off the water, now that afternoon temperatures are reaching mid 90's.

Sacramento River - Lower - June 23rd, 2009
supplied by: Sac River Outfitters RECORDED:90 °FISHING: Great
The flows on the Lower Sac are currently at 11,000 CFS and should remain at this flow for awhile. Fishing has been great for big, wild rainbows. The floats below Anderson have really picked up the past couple of days. The fish seem to be very hungry, with most fish keying in on the summer caddis and rubberlegs. Most anglers willing to stay out for the evening hours have had good success throwing dries to rising rainbows.

Sacramento River - Upper - June 23rd, 2009
supplied by: Sac River Outfitters RECORDED:85 °FISHING: Good
The Upper Sac is fishing great with most fish taking stones, with some coming on PMD's. A decent caddis hatch in the evening makes it worth waiting for the evening hours. Use extra weight to get those bugs down in the water column. If you aren't touching bottom from time to time, then you are not fishing deep enough.

supplied by: Sac River Outfitters RECORDED:84 °FISHING: Great
If you are looking for wonderful scenery and prime trout water, the McCloud is it. The past few trips have produced good numbers of rainbows with a few browns in the mix. With the warmer temperatures in the forcast, we should see some decent hatches. Keep that dry fly rod handy and be ready for rising fish around every bend. Caddis and golden stones have been the go to bugs. We now have access to fish the Bollibokka section of the McCloud and would love to show you what it has to offer.

Klamath River - June 15th, 2009
supplied by: SC Guide Service RECORDED:70 °FISHING: Great
I did a combo trip with Conner and my Dad yesterday, we fished for some Bass at Trout Lake in the morning, then hit the Klamath River in the after noon for some Steely/Trout. The bass bite was not hot but we did land a couple of real nice ones on white grubs. The Bass look to be in pre-spawn mode right now, we didnt see any Bass in shallow water on their beds yet. We would have done better with some with some white spinnerbaits in deeper water. The Klamath is still kicking out some nice Steely/Trout as the Salmonflies continue to hatch. The bite continues to be sub-surface working the hotshot worm combo in faster water was the ticket to getting some nice fish. My dad had the hot stick as he stuck two Steely/Trout in the 3 to 4 pound class and a couple of half pounders just to mix things up. The fish are hanging in faster more oxygenated water right now as the river starts to warm up for the summer. The weather has been great so far. Nightly rain showers and clouds have kept the summer temps down in the low 70's great fishing weather.
Lake Siskiyou - February 7th, 2009
supplied by: SC Guide Service RECORDED:50 °FISHING: Excellent If you’re looking for some nice Trout, Lake Siskiyou is one place you need to go. I have been fishing the lake for the past week and each day produced some great fishing as well as some quality Trout. My clients landed 24 Trout on Thursday and Friday trolling Seps kick dodgers (smeared with krill paste) with woolly bugger worm trailers. Thursday was quite a challenge due to the weather; a mix of icy cold wind rain and snow made it hard to troll but the Trout didn’t care as the guys landed 8 nice Trout (3 Browns and 5 Rainbows) in the 1.5 to 3 pound range. Friday was a complete 180 turn, as the weather went from crappy the day before to extremely pleasant warm sun and no wind. The guys hooked up over 20 Trout landing 17 of them. All the Trout were Rainbows 2 of which topped the 5 pound mark. We caught all the Trout while trolling in an S pattern at .7 to 1.3 mph, in 25 to 45 feet of water.
