Bogachiel River - January 27th, 2012
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    34 °   FISHING: Excellent
The Bogy is in good shape running at 29.241ft with 3ft of vis and dropping.

The bogy has been fishing very well plenty of Hatchery steelhead still around and a good amount of wild fish.

With the river running high the best techniques will be pulling plugs or side drifting. If pulling plugs stick with T-4 Flatfish in silver, silver/red, flame red, grenn hornet, clair'a'belle, casper or flounder.

For the side drifter stick with 2 #2 vision hooks and a #8 corkie in flame red, chart/red, rainbow or chart/green dot. For bait fish eggs cured in Pink Borax-0-fire or Borax-o-fire cured prawns.

If looking for hatchery fish stay around the hatchery area, and for wild fish I would fish higher in the system. Remember that above the 101 bridge it is selective gear rules which means no bait and sinlge barbless hooks and no retenion of wild fish.

This will continue to get better as the water drops.

Bogachiel River - November 22nd, 2011
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    46 °   FISHING: Poor
The Bogachiel River is in Poor shape running at 34.55ft with 0ft of Vis.

The Bogy has been on fire with tons early Winter Steelhead showing up.

Stick to fishing around the Hatchery down to Wilsons where the most fish will stack up. The best techniques if fishing from the bank is Drift or Float fishing. If you are a drift fisherman stick with Raggs when water is colored up and go down to small corkies when the water gets lower. A small baits of eggs or shrimp is always a little better with these offerings. If you are float fishing you can fish small Aero Jigs in Cerise, Pink, Pink/white, Peach or Nightmare. It is also good to use a small spawn sack with orange cured Pautzke eggs on a small vision hook.

If you are a boat fisherman you can use the same drift or float fishing techniques but also add plugs or diver and bait to your arsinal. When plug pulling stick to small plugs like wordons x-4 or u-20's in silver, silver/red, met pink, green weenie, flounder or dr. death.

For divers i like a brads diver with a 5ft leader and a aero fly and a coon stripe shrimp cured in pautzke cure or a sandshrimp.

When this water comes down you are going to want to be here because it is going to be epic.
