Bogachiel River - March 11th, 2014
supplied by: Puget Sound Fly Company, LLC
RECORDED:    55 °   FISHING: Excellent
Lots of fish around it seems, our boat went 6/8 on a beautiful day!

Lots of anglers too, so don't be afraid to try that new section you've always wanted to try, or even to do something totally against the grain.

Saw numerous other hookups along the way, and had a few real nice fish to hand.

RECORDED:    42 °   FISHING: Great
The Bogacheil is running at 27.81ft with 4' of vis.
Good amount of wild Steelhead around with a few straggling Hatchery steelhead still coming in.

The best Techniques will be plug pulling or float fishing.

If pulling Plugs I would stick smaller plugs like the Yakima Bait x-4 flatfish. Silver, Flame Red, Dr.Death, blue scale, met Green, gold and Black. would be the best colors to stick with.

If you are float fishing use the 1/2 Aero Float with 1/8 once Aero or Beau Mac Jigs. Use colors like cerise, pink, pink/white, red, red/purple, pink/purple, black or black/white/red.

Will continue to get better as we a little more water with some rain.

Bogachiel River - March 22nd, 2012
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    34 °   FISHING: Excellent
The Bogy is in good shape running at 27.871ft with 4ft of vis and dropping.

The bogy has been fishing very well with a good amount of wild fish.

With the river running high the best techniques will be pulling plugs or side drifting. If pulling plugs stick with T-4 Flatfish in silver, silver/red, flame red, grenn hornet, clair'a'belle, casper or flounder.

For the side drifter stick with 2 #2 vision hooks and a #8 corkie in flame red, chart/red, rainbow or chart/green dot. For bait fish eggs cured in Pink Borax-0-fire or Borax-o-fire cured prawns.

Remember that above the 101 bridge it is selective gear rules which means no bait and sinlge barbless hooks and no retenion of wild fish.

This will continue to get better as the water drops.

With the river running low the best techniques for a few days will be to Pull Plugs or float fishing.

Pulling plugs will be the best method for a few days. I like to use Faltfish in x-4 or t-4 sizes in Silver, Flame red, Dr.Death, Green Weenie, silver/black, Blue Streak or met Green.

If you are a float fisherman stick with a large Thill Turbo Master float with a 1/4 oz egg sinker and a jig or worm. For jigs the Nightmare, cerise, pink, pink/white, AGS jig, purple/pink and black/red. If youwant to add a little flavour to your jig you can adda small piece of prawn soaked in Puatzke Nectuar or a small spawn sack of eggs cured in Borax-o-fire.

I have also been having good luck with a Mad River Worm in Clear Water Pink rigged wacky Style.
