Fish spread out from South Fork down to the mouth. More wild fish above the bridge and last of hatchery fish around the hatchery.


One of the best techniques have been pulling X-4 plugs in silver, Silver Red dots, Flame, Red Devil, Flounder, Cop Car, Green Weenie or Green Hornet.

Side Drifting small clusters of eggs or Prawns has aslo been producing quite well from the 101 bridge down to the mouth.

Water is starting to clear and drop enough that floats are going to start taking over. You can fish either eggs under the float or you can go with your standard jigs.

The forks down has been good with quite a few wild fish spread out up there.

Just remember that above the 101 bridge that it is selective regulations which means no bait, single barbless hook, no scent and no retaining wild fish.

You might want also to try fishing some bigger Corkies and Spin-n-glos from the North ponds downstream to the mouth.

As the water level drops and clears you might want to do a float down from the forks to the 101 bridge or to wilsons. It is going to be nice a quite up ther with the chance at some early wild fish.

Calawah is fishable today with limited vis and very high. Stick to fishing around the hatchery with the concentration of fish being higher. Wait for a couple of more days until you look to far upstream for any wild fish.

Should see one last good push of hatchery fish on this high water along with a few wild fish starting to show.
