Calawah River - January 11th, 2009
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    43 °   FISHING: Poor
Calawah in poor shape running at 3550 and 6 inches of vis.

It is going to take a few days for this one to come down into fishable shape.

Should see one last good push of hatchery fish on this high water along with a few wild fish starting to show.

Best techniques will be to fish large bright plugs like the T-4 flatfish in silver, Silver Red dots, Flame, Red Devil, Flounder, Cop Car, School Bus or White- Red.

You might want also to try fishing some bigger Corkies and Spin-n-glos from the North ponds downstream to the mouth.

As the water level drops and clears you might want to do a float down from the forks to the 101 bridge or to wilsons. It is going to be nice a quite up ther with the chance at some early wild fish.

Just remember that above the 101 bridge that it is selective regulations which means no bait, single barbless hook, no scent and no retaining wild fish.
