East Lake - October 16th, 2012
supplied by: The Flyfishers Place
RECORDED:
43 °
FISHING: Good
It is big brown time at East. Go Early and fish the shallows with streamers. Once the light hits the water fish the drop offs by the red slide or the cliffs.
Chironomid fishing is good too.
Fish were rising heavily along the White Slide last week but my source wasn't sure to what.

FISHING: Good
the callibaetis have pretty much called it quite for the season but don't with out a few #18 olive haze or spinners.
I've been doing best with a chironomid. We had a fun hour of fishing with ants last friday too.
This is a great time to be pulling streamers on a sink line for bigger browns!

FISHING: Good
I had a nice day and evening up at East Lake a couple of nights ago. We caught most of our fish on the top with an Olive Haze and a Callibaetis extended body.
Chironomids under an indicator are working really well right now, especially over on the resort & cinder hill side.

FISHING: Great
While the fish are seemingly getting a little more picky on the callibaetis the fishing is still great. Yesterday it took a while to decipher the code but they wanted an emerger that hung in the film, then they wanted just a standard parachute tie. We caught a few on comparaduns too and had some good takes on flashbacks.
A Chironomid under the indicator is really good now.
Damsel nymphs and adults are important.

RECORDED:

FISHING: Excellent
I've been guiding up here a bunch and have been so impressed how good the fishing is. Callibaetis hatches will bring fish up to the top in good numbers and a callibaetis nymph is maybe even better. Fish the nymph on a slow sinking line for best results.
Damsel hatches have been amazing, and the fish are on both the nymphs and adults.
Chironomids under an indicator is always productive, so if you can't find any fish up on dries the bobber method is tough to beat.

East Lake - August 1st, 2012

FISHING: Great
As soon as I finish this report I'm heading back up there. It's been wonderful with callibaetis action in the afternoon. Damsels are also very good and don't forget your ant patterns.
Chironomids under an indicator is a great option, especially over near the resort and cinder hill.

East Lake - July 21st, 2012

FISHING: Excellent
Amazing callibaetis fishing at all levels. Nymphs, Emergers, Duns and Spinners.
Great wind drifting damsel nymphs mid day.
Chironomids under an indicator anytime. The Hump and the Hot Springs are good bets for areas to hit but that can be good anywhere.
Ants are really good.
Stripping small flashback nymphs on a sinking line is a great bet on windy days when the hatch is blown off.
Streamers along the cliffs will be your best bet for a big brown but do it early and late in the day.
I can't wait to go back.....Is tomorrow soon enough?

Callibaetis hatches are good to excellent. Hatches are on from about noon to 5. Wind Drifting damsels or chironomid fishing with an indicator are great options now too.
On windy days don't forget to try ants, especially around the white and red slide areas.

FISHING: Great
WInd drifting damsel nymphs in the afternoon out from Cinder Hill and the resort is a great bet now.
Chironomids under an indicator is very good, especially at the hump and around Hot Springs boat ramp and on the drop off from the White Slide.
Some callibaetis hatches now but improving quickly with the nice, warm, sunny weather we have in the forecast!
By the way, Paulina is awesome with a Minnow Bugger for Kokanee.

FISHING: Great
East and Paulina are both fishing really well. The Minnow Bugger pattern is a hit right now.
Also try Rufus, Sheep Creek Special, Wooly Buggers, Top Banana and damsel nymphs. Not much hatch yet with water temps still in the high 40's, but they should be ON soon.
