Hoh River - August 9th, 2010
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    62 °   FISHING: Excellent
Hoh is in great shape running at 1210 cfs with 5 ft of vis.

Lots of summer steelhead spread out from mouth all the way to the park boundry

Fishing above the 101 bridge has been best pulling plugs in X-4 flatfish with silver, silver/red, green hornet, met pink and MJ. Fishing floats and jigs has also been producing. Sitck with brighter colors with the colored water like Pink, Pink/white, pink/chart and nightmare.

Fishing below the 101 bridge is same as above tackle but you can add sidedrifting bait using 2 #4 vision hooks and a small cheater in flame red, Chart/red dots, chart green dots, rainbow and glo orange. Stick with small baits in orange or red eggs clusters or small chunks of shrimp.

Few summer chinook around in the deeper holes mostly in lower river. Fish M-2 flatfish in silver/chart, silver/red, Met chart, met pink and seahawk. You can also fish eggs behind a #20 diver with a small corkie or spin-n-glo in fornt of them. Try a smal piece of Sardine, tuna or shrimp with your eggs. Floats and eggs in the same deeper slower holes will aslo work well.

Summer steelhead will be around for a least another month or so and summer chinook will be good for a couple more weeks before the fall fish start to show in middle of september.

Hoh River - July 7th, 2010
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    57 °   FISHING: Fair
The Hoh has had little visibility with the hot weather . River is dropping slowly.

The best techniques in this little more colored water will be to Pull plugs. For plug pulling stick with the larger plugs like M2sp or a T-4 flatfish. Color's like silver, Silver/flame Back, Mr Bill, Claudia, and Fickle pickle are all good bets.  Baits behind a diver are good as well. I like to use a little bigger baits, so cut your eggs a little bigger and add a mad river egg to the bottom for a little more scent.

Hoh River - April 12th, 2010
supplied by: All About the Fly
RECORDED:    52 °   FISHING: Great
Ben and I just got back from Forks, and lets just say the fishing was good! We caught fish every day, but we had to work for them. Guys fishing single egg patterns under thingamabobbers did great, but we wanted to swing the two handers, and had success!! The Hoh is in great shape but getting low, some rain will help bring in the last of the fish before it closess. The Sol Duc is getting low but was good after a rainy spell, lots of Steelhead in the coastal rivers so get out there and catch some fish.
