Best techniques in upper river has been sidedrifting small baits on a #2 vision hook with a small piece of yarn and a small cluster of red eggs or shrimp in the faster water.

The other way that has been good is to sit in top of hole and back a Hot-n-tot with a pink or purple coon stirpe shrimp down into the hole. Fishing floats has been also great sitting a top of hole and droping back into hole with small baits or darker colored jigs.

Down at the mouth the best been sittting on anchor with a coon stripe shrimp and a small spin-n-glo back behind the boat in 10-15ft of water. You can also fish a x-4 flame red flatfish on a 5ft leader with a 1 ft dropper.

Summer steelhead will remain strong for several more weeks. Fall kings will start to show at the mouth any day.
