Lewis River - April 14th, 2007
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    60 °   FISHING: Great
River is in great shape with 4 ft of vis and med flow.

Still a few late winter steelhead around. Fish around cedar creek hatchery or in a boat sidedrift bait form hatchery down to bottom of island. Stick with small egg clusters with a Red, Pink, Glo Green or Rainbow Cheater with them. Dont be surprised if you hook a springer while doing this.

Springers are starting to show in good nmbers. A fair amount of springers have been caught down at the mouth trolling herring. I like to fish a 5 ft leader with  a 1 ft dropper to my weight. Fish herring in Red, Green or Blue sizes as each year that like a little something different.

In the next week or so the fish will start to move up river. Fish divers and Herring, M-2 Flatfish or t-4 flatfish for these early fish. I will tend to fish two diver and herring on my back two rods and then two plugs on the front two.  For plug colors stick with Silver, Gold, Silver/Char, Cop Car, Blue Scale, Green Weenie, Met Pink or Flounder.

The peak of the season will be the first week in May.
