It took a bit longer than we thought for the rivers here on the north coast to drop into shape but now that they are back in great shape, we are fishing every day. The last two days have been action filled and characterized by lots of bright fish to the boat. Too busy right now to post the majority of the pics but there's one from Saturday HERE

The rivers up here are pretty well blown out at the moment, but are forecast to start dropping back into shape in the next 24-36 hours. There will be lots of fresh fish in all the river systems we fish as they clear and drop into fishable levels. It's a good day to sit here, have a beer or two, tie some flies and rig for the coming week. It's going to be a great week! See a few recent pictures here.

FISHING: Good
Steelhead are now pretty well spread out in more than a few North Coast rivers. We have fished a couple different systems over the last few days and found fish in all of them. Yesterday turned out to be a pretty good day with six fish on, four landed and all of them really bright. We found sea lice on several of the fish too. We have guided trip dates available dependent on river conditions. See a few recent pictures here.

Winter Steelhead fishing season is on! The rivers here have been a little up and down but we are finding fish every trip out. After a few days with big numbers of fish we are down to 2-8 hook-ups a day at least until the next storm brings fresh fish in with the high water. We were surprised with the number of much larger than average fish this past week including a some over 13lbs and a few over 15lbs (weighed.) We are still getting a few salmon as well, but most are past their prime by now. There will be fishable numbers of fresh steelhead around for the next few months with fishing being best on the tail end of each big storm. See a few recent pictures here.

Winter Steelhead are here NOW! The last big storm has brought plenty of rainfall and as the rivers drop we are finding fresh, bright steelhead. This first wave of fish is mostly small to medium sized hatchery(read keeper) brats and there is no good reason to wait a few more weeks to go fish for winter steelhead. Along with the first waves of winter fish there are still plenty of salmon around as well, both Coho and Chinook. We have good fishable numbers of steelhead in a few rivers already and we're thinking this is a good start to a great winter steelhead season here on the North Coast!
