Pecos River:  Low, clear water and spooky fish. Pretty cold in the morning, so don't bother getting out too early

Although the weatherman says monsoons are over, don't believe it. Cooler temperatures are evident in the mornings. Expect a busy holiday weekend and do some walking.

San Juan River:  Excellent reports from the Quality Water. Still holding around 800cfs with decent clarity. RS-2s, leeches, San Juan Worms, and egg patterns; not very much surface action.

Pecos River:  SOme black clouds and rain showers are cooling things off nicely. Using waders may be more pleasant than wet-wading. Water is just under 50cfs and clear, so fish are getting a good look at potential offerings. Small flies and light tippets are useful in making drag-free presentations.

Pecos River:  No big changes or surprises. Normal summer rains are making the lower river murky for a time after hard rainfall.  Slightly bigger/brighter flies, especially nymphs, are still working well then.  Otherwise, very careful, drag-free presentations of caddis or Red Quill dries on light tippets will get fish in the 50cfs water.

Pecos River:  Big rains last weekend and river is up and murky.  Use bigger flies (including nymphs) and take your summer rain gear.  Good on upper tributaries and into the designated Wilderness.

Pecos River:  Lots of folks out over the weekend, but best reports on smaller flies.  Flows have settled down to around 50cfs after a big rain-caused spike last week.

Pecos River:  The rain overnight a couple of days ago spiked the gauge from 60cfs to 100cfs.  Two days later, we're back to 60cfs and fishing should be great this weekend.
