Foamwing emergers in very small sizes, midge larva, and power ants. It's good to settle in somewhere and let the fish get used to you, and sometimes give breaks beween casts to keep the fish mellow. Maybe it's just voodoo, but when the fish don't seem to react to me too much, the more of my crap they'll be want to tolerate.

The flying ant prey image is white hot in the minds of the trout up there. Big, big fish are rising up to them. Power ants and foamies.

The usual suspect will produce for flies, but 6X flouro will probably make as big a difference as anything. The flows will be going up to 1000, so expect streamer fishing to get better. And don't be afraid to throw something about three inches long; the mackers will take it down.

Cloud covers the sun? The noses will be rolling, Lower Flats, backside of ESPN, Simon at the outlet. Otherwise, make sure it's flouro and that you don't call it a skunk until you've run a red annelid, a bling, olive, cream, and chocolate. Wind has been subdued.

If it's windy, fish a small leech under an indicator or not through calm water. Let it blow along, keep it kind of tight, and they should be all over it. If you see clouds coming, get ready to look for baetis adults and some nice noses. Comparaduns, patch adams, and something like a johnny behind it.

Saturday March 10 at 10:00, looking for about 12 or so volunteers to help plant grass seed on the new habitat islands at the Texas Hole/Rex Smith Wash improvement project. Small (about an inch long) light gray bunny leaches are knocking the stuffing out of them. If that doesn't work, try a light gray bunny leach or a light gray bunny leach. (if you must, the red annelid,tan midge larvae and pupae, and foam wing emergers will do OK). But basically, a light gray bunny leach.
Simon is fishing well, lower flats too if you don't want to rub elbows at the braids.

Throw junk (eggies and such) or challenge yourself by hunting fish and either sight-nymphing them or running midge dries trailing emergers. Keep an eye on the slicks around sundown, because fish will come out to sip.
