Sol Duc River - April 4th, 2009

FISHING: Excellent
Sol Duc is in great shape currently at 7 boards and dropping and 4 ft of vis.
The Best techniques have been float fishing or plug pulling, with the rise in water level sidedrifting wil be good again.
Best plugs have been the X-4 Flatfish in Silver, flame red, green weenie, blue streak and the flounder.
Fishing floats has been great with areo jigs in Pink, Pink/peach, Pink/white or have been lots of fish on eggs under a float with a orange cheater bait weight above the eggs to keep it down.
Sidedrifting will be good again and i would stick with double 4 hooks and a small corkie in the middle. Flame, pearl pink, chart green dot and rainbow has been the better colors latley witheggs or prawns showing equal results.
The first of the springers have shwon up and the numbers are getting better each day. The best way to target the early springers will be using plugs in M-2's or T-4 flatfish in Double trouble, Mr.Bill, Mr's Bill, Green Hornet or Blue scale. You might also run a small prawn behind a diver with a small green spin-n-glo. The springer fishing is going to get better with this rise in the water level.
