Sol Duc River - January 11th, 2009
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    43 °   FISHING: Fair
Sol Duc in poor shape running at 17 boards and 1.5 ft of vis.

Sol Duc dropping fast and should be fishable tomorrow. It is going to be very high and colored but fishable.

The upper river is green and clearing up nicely River side to the hatchery will be in shape tomorrow. From the hatchery down you will have maybe 2 ft of vis.

Best techniques will be to pull big plugs like a T-4 Flatfish in silver, silver red dots, flame, red devil, Cop Car, white-red and flounder.

Above the hatchery fish Mad River 6" pink, cerise chartruece tail or metholate worms will be very productive.

Below the hatchery you can fish the same worms or side drift bigger offerings like raggs or bigger size 10 cheaters and red eggs.

Remember that above the Hatchery it is selective gear which means no bait or scent, barbless hooks and no retention of wild fish.

The Sol Duc should be on fire whens this drops into good shape.

We are collecting Snider Creek Broadstock fish right now until the end of January so if you want to get involved in this give me a call on my cell at 360-271-7197. This a great program and is resposible for all the early returning wild fish we have now.
