Sol Duc River - February 13th, 2004
supplied by: Fishing Northwest
FISHING: Fair
Flip a coin, it's that classic mid winter funky phase, there are decent numbers of fish in here but one day you're a hero and the next, well, you might has well just have flipped you gear into the weeds, you'd get the same results....there has been relentless pressure on this river this season but the Steelhead are holding their own and making it upstream to the closed water.
Note: It is strictly catch and release on ALL Wild Steelhead above the Sappho Salmon Hatchery and regulations stipulate that only artificial lures with single barbless hooks may be used up here NO BAIT. The WDFG has been vigorously patrolling this upper section of the Sol-Duc River and the fines are substantial for violators.

heard it was pretty slow in here today due to rising river level and rising water temps AND the plethera of morons splashing over the fish. Hopefully the bath tub bums will also find a better way to try and find their next thrill. or make a living.

Not to shabby, still a bunch of water moving through here, like 10 boards worth at Maxfield rd today, but it has been decent, definitely not hot but everyone I talked with seemed to have had at least 1 Steelheadish encounter.

FISHING: Poor
Pounding rains and high winds to 60+ miles per hr. turned the river into a raging mess last night and this morning. It's going to be till Monday a least before we fish.
