supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    46 °   FISHING: Excellent
Sol Duc in great shape with 4 ft of vis.

Lots of fish spread out from top to bottom.

As water level has dropped float and jigs have been the better technique lately. Stick with Pink and White, Peach or the night Mare Jig. As water level drops even more try very small baits under a float.

If you are a fly fisherman stick with swung flies in Black, Purple, Black and Purple or Blood Red. The Zandoli Worm has been great for the nymph fisherman  or a pair of 8mm beads.

Sol Duc River - January 23rd, 2007
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    48 °   FISHING: Excellent
River is out out of shape right now but should drop back into shape in the day or two.

Plenty of Hatchery fish around with a good showing of Wild Steelhead. Fish will be spread out from the Snider Bridge down to the mouth. In this higher water wild fish will be on the move and will be better in upper half of river.

Snider brood stock fish starting to show up in good numbers and size. Snider fish to 20 pound caught recently. Snider fish can be determined by there missing left ventral fin and these are considered hatchery fish.

This is also the time to collect wild fish for the Snider Creek Brood Stock Program. If interested in helping with the collection of wild fish give me a call at 1-360-374-3148.

The wild fish population will only get better from here out.

Sol Duc River - January 3rd, 2007
supplied by: Angler's Guide Service
RECORDED:    43 °   FISHING: Poor
The Sol Duc is very high and off colored right now but dropping fast.

There are still plenty of Hatchery fish to be had along with some Snider Creek hatchery fish( Missing Left Ventral fin). The Snider fish will still continue to come in untill some time in early march.

We have had good amounts of early native fish showing up. This will only get better each and every day. Look for a big push of natives as the water drops and clears after this high water.

Now is the time to collect fish for the Snider Creek Brood Stock program. To learn about this or how you can help either call me at 360-374-3148 or George Wing at 360-374-3175.

Remember that the upper river from the Salmon Hatchery to Snider Bridge is Selective regulations only.
