Tennessee Bass Fishing Trips

Welcome to Tennessee Bass Guides. My name is Rick McFerrin owner of TBG and a Full Time Guide on Tim’s Ford Lake–Normandy Lake and Woods Reservoirs here in middle Tennessee.  I offer single and multiple day Tennessee bass fishing trips as well as larger groups and corporate events. GIFT CERTIFICATES are also available in all denominations for all occasions. I also can put you in touch with highly skilled guides on the majority of lakes, rivers and streams in Tennessee.  Click on Guide Tab on the left side of this page to view.  Of the lakes that I guide each has their own distinct personalities and fishing opportunities.

Tim’s Ford Lake: Estill Springs, TN Severe Weather Alert27°FCloudyHour-by-hour 10-day

Is a deep clear lake  fed by the Elk River. Tim's Ford Lake was impounded in 1970 and covers over 10,700 acres consisting of creeks, islands, boat docks, inlets and 241 miles of shoreline.   Tim's Ford Lake is located between the cities of Tullahoma, Manchester and Winchester Tennessee and known for it’s blue ribbon Smallmouth population.  Tim's Ford Lake is not only full of Smallmouth, but Largemouth, Spotted Bass, Striped Bass, Hybrids, Walleye and Crappie as well. For Tims Ford Bass fishing trips I specialize in using light line and high quality tackle which I supply for your use.  I also use a variety of techniques based on the season and fishing conditions. Cabins are available at the State Park, Tim’s Ford Marina and Holiday Marina and the surrounding cities have multiple motels that can fit into everyone’s budget.  Woods Reservoir:  Is a shallower lake also fed by the Elk River and impounded in 1952 Woods covers 3,980 acres and 65 miles of shoreline.  Being a shallower lake Woods offers some distinct differences with weed and grass beds, submerged humps and other underwater structure.  Woods also located in the Manchester, Tullahoma, Winchester area fishes more like a “River Lake” than a deeper impoundment. Known for it’s prolific Largemouth and huge Crappie population Woods also has a sizeable trophy Smallmouth population as well. Normandy Lake: Is fed by the Duck River and was impounded in 1976. Normandy when at full pool covers 3,048 acres and has 72 miles of shore line. Although relatively narrow, it fishes both like a deeper lake and a river as well. Normandy has a great population of Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted Bass and Crappie. Although there are no cottages or cabins on the lake it is easy to find good accommodations in Manchester which is just minutes away. By clicking on the Tabs in the upper portion of the page you can access Weekly Tennessee Bass fishing Pictures And trip updates, Weekly Area Lake Fishing Reports. Multiple In Depth Tips Articles, In Depth Product Reviews, In Depth Guide Information and more.  All trip prices are inclusive. All you have to bring is your Tennessee Fishing License, rain gear and appropriate clothing.

Tim's Ford 2-25-2008

I met Mr. Bob Hinds and his son Cody at the state park ramp at 7:00am. Cody just turned 15 years old and this was a birthday present from his dad. Things couldn't have worked out better for Cody. It didn't take me long to find out that he knows his way around a boat and fishing equipment. Cody also isn't bashful about putting the big fish in the boat. Things started out quickly with a 4lb 14 ounce Smallmouth the slammed a Rapala DT10 Parrot crank bait off the 1st windy point that we stopped on. www.rapala.com  Then later Cody hooked up with some bragging size Hybrids on a  Lure Jensen Krocodile spoon www.lurejensen.com. The largest Hybrid was knocking on 8lbs and was the largest fish that Cody has ever caught. Way to go Cody!!!! All these fish were caught on light tackle All Pro APX 7' Medium rods www.allprorods.com  and 6 or 8 pound test P-Line. www.pline.com Things will heat up quickly on Tim's as we enter into the spring season. I have scattered open dates available so just give me a call (615-765-7303) if you want to get in on some great Bass/Hybrid action. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Tim's Ford 2-5&7-2008

I fished Tim's Ford today with my favorite fishing partner, Daniel my 12 year old son. Daniel is holding two of the fish he caught today. One on a Chartreuse Buckeye Shad www.buckeyeshad.com and the other on a Parrott DT10 www.rapala.com Water level is up about 18 inches and the water temperatures have risen to 48-49 in some areas. There is a lot of color in the Rock Creek-Dry Creek areas as well as in the backs of many pockets and coves. I fished the 7th with Mr. jay Arnold and we didn't have any picture fish. Tim's continues to be off and on just about like every where else in the state. More next week. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
