Trinity River - June 23rd, 2005
supplied by: Tim's Guide Service
FISHING: Fair
Daily Data for California: Stage and Streamflow
The Klamath and Trinity rivers are dropping back into shape . There still have not been very many salmon caught above the falls on the Trinity side. The lower Trinity below the south fork is still pretty high but should drop below the 17 foot mark in the next few days and be fishable. I think we will start to see the numbers of fish caught pick up this weekend. Your best bets will be the deeper holes below some major white water where the fish will be more concentrated as they wait to move up. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - May 24th, 2005
supplied by: Al Brown's Guide Service
FISHING: Poor
The release at Lewiston is peaking this weekend at 7,000 cfs, and the river currently too high to fish. Flows will start declining after a few days and should be back to summer levels by around Memorial Day, fishing for 8- to 10-inch steelhead yearlings will soon be providing great action on ultra-light gear.
Willow Creek -The river was still several feet above itıs banks, making for lousy fishing conditions.
Douglas City-River flows are on the decline but is still very high, and not very fishable. Flows will still be pretty high over the next couple of weeks, but anglers who figure out how to get bait and lures down should start catching spring run king salmon which are entering the river now.

Trinity River - April 7th, 2005
supplied by: Al Brown's Guide Service
FISHING: Fair
WILLOW CREEK - Another storm blew in toward the end of the week ruining any chances for a shot at fresh adult fish for tributaries like the South Fork. The rain is badly needed, however, since the Trinity/Klamath drainage is still way behind normal precipitation for the year. LEWISTON - The upper river is loaded with yearling steelhead from the hatchery which are providing non-stop catch and release action, plus the occasional adult steelhead and brown trout weighing from 4 to 7 pounds. They are taking flies and backtrolled plugs.

Trinity River - February 21st, 2005
supplied by: Tim's Guide Service
FISHING: Good
Daily Data for California: Stage and Streamflow
The fishing On the Trinity and the Klamath has been good the last few days. The Trinity was on the rise over the weekend but is now falling and should drop right back down to great fishing conditions. The Smith is still low and clear and could use a big rain storm to get it in optimum shape. Over the weekend the perk derby was held and around 30 fish were landed for about 60 boats not to bad considering all the pressure that was there. I have a few days open in March that typically have better weather and great steelhead fishing. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - February 16th, 2005

FISHING: Good
Daily Data for California: Stage and Streamflow
The fishing was a little slow on the Trinity for us on Monday. With the rain that we received the river was a little too colored up for optimum conditions. Things started to pick back up today. The river was tightening up and clearing fast all day. Most of our fish we got today where caught on roe and a fish pill. We pulled plugs for a while but never had a take down.
The Eel is out from the rain that came in on Sunday. Look for the south fork to clear up in a few days above Benbow. Murray Wolfe and a few other guides have been fishing the Klamath from there jets the last few days with some pretty good results. The Smith has not received any rain and is still low and clear. making for extremely tough fishing. The Perk Derby is this weekend and about 60 boats should be on the water. We really need some more rain on the Smith to get things going. Check out the picture from the 12th. I am holding a big buck that still has a pink fish pill on his upper lip you can order these from Mad river outfitters on my links page. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - January 27th, 2005

FISHING: Good

The fishing on the Trinity river is pretty good. We fished the upper river today and landed 4 nice steelhead to about 8 lbs. We also lost 2 others that didn't make it to the boat. We have been tossing roe with a jaw breaker Fish Pill to get them to bite along with pulling plugs along the Willows. It rained pretty good last night in the Weaverville area .With the warm temperatures the river was on the rise all day. The Lower sections below the south fork are blown out. The river conditions from there back to the Douglas city area are really good .The river has a nice shade of green to it but it is running a little high. The conditions from Lewiston to Rush Creek is clear and would be a good bet if you are fly fishing in the next few days. Thanks Tim King

FISHING: Good
Daily Data for California: Stage and Streamflow
Most of the coastal rivers are back on the rise. The warn temperatures have started to melt the snow at the higher elevations greening up and blowing out some of the rivers . The Smith is back in with good numbers of fish landed today the average was over 3 or 4 fish per boat. The Chetco is green to with some nice fish being caught. We will be on the Trinity for the rest of the week. Thanks Tim King
