Trinity River - July 3rd, 2004
supplied by: Tim's Guide Service
FISHING: Fair
The fishing is ok on the Trinity. It seems that it doesn't matter what area you fish, you are going to have a shot at a couple of nice fish and you had better make them count. We would like to see our numbers higher but it just has not happened the last few days. The water will start to drop on July 8th and this should help our numbers increase as the fish bunch up with the lower flows. The Klamath is having Jet boat racing over the 4th of July weekend and fishing will be all of impossible except in the very early morning. We will be at Klamath Glen over the weekend to attend the wedding of Murray Wolf and Bonnie Allen. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - June 21st, 2004

FISHING: Fair
The Fishing on the Klamath has been slower the last few  days. We have managed to put fish in the boat every day but the numbers have been really low 1 to 2 fish per trip. The Trinity is not producing any great numbers of fish yet but hopefully things will change soon. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - June 10th, 2004

FISHING: Poor
The fishing is still slow on the Trinity. The Indians down in Hoopa are starting to see there nets fill up the fish are on there way and should be here in good numbers in about a week. The water is still very high making it easy for the fish to move up river it also spreads the fish out across the river making fishing more difficult . The water levels are dropping and this will improve the fishing also in the next few weeks. The fishing on the Klamath has been up and down so far this season hopefully things will improve there soon. We went abalone diving this weekend on some of the lowest tides for the season and we had great success we picked one almost 10 inches like landing a 25 pound steelhead it doesn't happen very often. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - June 2nd, 2004

FISHING: Poor
The fishing is slow on the Trinity we saw a few boats on the river this weekend and none of them had any fish. We fished on Monday and we had one good grab and that was it. The water level is still way to high I think we will be catching good numbers of fish by the middle of June. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - May 11th, 2004

FISHING: Poor
The Trinity is on the rise. It is great to see that much water flowing down the river for the spring run off the river will continue to be high in to June. The spring salmon are on there way with a few reports of fish being caught in the last few days over on the Klamath. We are headed that way on Monday and will let you know how the action is from there. The Klamath quotas from the fish and game came out this week and it is not good the river will close to the take of adult fish early this year we cant say when because it all depends on how well the ocean sport fishing fleet does if they don’t catch any fish in the ocean they will roll those fish over to the Klamath and the Trinity to be harvested. We will still be able to keep jacks during the whole season and catch and release the big adults so they can head up river to spawn. This is important to keep enough fish in the river to keep the runs going on the lean years. They are actually calling for a real good run this year there will be some real big fish caught later in September and October when the 5 year old fish arrive. The fishing will be fantastic on the Klamath and the Trinity right up to the close of the season in November we will be landing a lot of fish for catch and release and a few jacks for the barbeque. If you have not booked your favorite guide for salmon season now is the time these are real popular fishing trips and the top guides and motels fill up fast. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - April 30th, 2004

FISHING: Fair
The good news is about the Klamath and Trinity they are going to be releasing more water down the Trinity this year than they have in the last 5 years. The flow schedule should be out next week.

Trinity River - April 10th, 2004

FISHING: Fair
The fishing was a little tougher today the river had come up 5 feet from yesterday and the conditions where bad. We fished hard to find a few fish in a few spots. Things should stabilize in the next few days and we should be able to get some better numbers in the boat. We ended up landing 3 of 5 Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - March 27th, 2004

FISHING: Fair
We had another decent day fishing the Trinity. For the last few days we seem to be losing all of our big fresh  fish we ended up landing 4 and lost 3 nice ones after some real nice battles not to bad a day for the end of March again we were the only boat on the river. The river is still a great shade of green. I wish the river was a little lower the fish are pretty spread out there are lots of places for them to be holding at this height. Thanks Tim King

The Trinity is fishing ok we went 4 for 6 today the flows are still high and the color is still a little dirty on the lower runs The water is a lot clearer above the South fork. We don’t have any openings left for steelhead season in my boat but we can set you up with some great guides on the Eel  or Trinity for the last two weeks of there season. The Trinity will not be closing on March 31 it will remain open all year we will be switching over to striper fishing on April 2 from my Jet boat I still have some good dates available for these trips . Thanks Tim King
