Trinity River - January 29th, 2004
supplied by: Tim's Guide Service
FISHING: Great
What a great day fishing on the Trinity. Days like this make my job easy I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. We ended up 10 for 14 the fishing started out good and just kept going though most off the day. Dennis was my second boat out today he ended up 9 for 10 combined we where 19 for 24 it doesn’t get much better for four friends fishing together. Bob and Erick where great guys to fish with Bob hooked the big fish of the day we all had a good look at her before she made a couple of big runs she then acted like we might land her and she took off again this time she wrapped around a tree and sawed our line into none of us could believe that we had lost her we where all in shock the big ones are tough to land. Erick had a great day landing the biggest steelhead he had ever caught. The river is in great shape above the south fork I would like to see it just a tad higher on the upper sections. We are forecast for some light rain this week it should keep the fishing going strong. Thanks Tim King

FISHING: Good
The Bite is still a little tough on the Trinity we had two boats out and we went a combined 5 for 8 we landed 2 fish in my boat and Dennis got 3 . The weather pattern is changing they are calling for showers on and off this week maybe this will shake things up a bit. The river above the south fork is in great shape if anything it is a tad on the clear side the south fork in Hyampom is in good shape but it colors up by the time it gets to sandy bar if the lower Trinity ever drops to 15 on the gauge it will be time to move down there. The south fork of the Eel has been in we will have to wait and see how much rain they get over in Garberville the East branch is always the first to go leaving only cooks valley as the place to drift. The Smith and the Chetco are also fishing pretty good we only have February and March left to get your steelhead fishing in so be sure and call your favorite guide before its to late.

FISHING: Good
I had a single in the boat today. We had a few casting lessons to work on before we started the day . The bite was a little tough today we ended up landing 3 and we missed a few others. The rain we received last night has raised the lower river to a un-fishable height just when it was coming back into shape. We are going to try some different drifts this week to see if we can improve our scores. Thanks Tim King

Trinity River - January 18th, 2004

FISHING: Good
Tough day on the Trinity we fished hard all day but the bite just did not materialize in good numbers for us today. We hooked our first fish around 9:00 am it was a pretty hot fish and it took us over the break and down river to where we find some calmer water to land it in. We hooked our second fish around 2:00 o'clock and that turned out to be our last fish landed we missed a few but overall it was a pretty slow day. The river is dropping fast down in Hoopa and if the weather hold we will be moving down there soon.
Chris Walker called to let me know that the Eel is in on the south fork he lives at Dean creek and has a nice view of the river we have know reports of any body fishing over there at this time. T
he Chetco over on the Oregon side has been giving up some nice numbers of fish. If your interested of booking a trip on any of the rivers give us a call. Thanks Tim King

FISHING: Great
We had another good day on the Trinity river these guys can fish . Whatever I suggested would be the best method for hooking fish in the area that we where fishing they where willing to do it . We hooked fish on fly's on plugs and spin fishing. We had a short day we had to be off the river by noon we ended up with 4 that we landed and we missed a couple of other ones not bad for a half day. The weather still looks good for the coming week all the rivers should be fishing good (Trinity; Smith) look for the Eel to come in later in the week. Thanks Tim King

FISHING: Good
The fishing remains good on the Trinity river for steelhead in between storms. The river is out today below Douglas city and may go out all the way up to Lewiston if the rain continues overnight. It looks like things are going to dry up next week with good weather in the forecast for the week.
