Box Canyon Rainbow: This large Stripe off of Box Canyon was taken in late Sept of 03 & took a small red juan deep. I hooked her in the chute across from the buffalo pump house & she ran me almost all the way up to the boat ramp then turned & came all the way back down to me. I thought I had a sucker wrangled (real slow & powerful run, no air & no bolting runs) until she came back down & started rollin’ up top, showing her girth & color. Filled the net & then some. Quite possibly the best fish of 03 as a whole package. A couple more good fish finished out that day, but none were as big & beautiful as the pictured one. This was just weeks before they stopped the flows for the Island Park Dam construction.
