Let Regatta Point be your home-base for bonefishing, deep sea fishing or just relaxing. We can help arrange bonefishing with the island's best guide (in our opinion!) or set out on your own to some of the best fishing in the Bahamas.
We are close to the ferry that goes to Stocking Island where miles of beautiful, white powdery sand await the beachgoer, snorkeler or shell collector. Or you can explore the isand's many keys on your own either by car or by boat. We have two Boston Whalers for rent and you can tie it up just steps from your suite on our own small beach.
Location:
Regatta Point is located at the end of a causeway and but a short 5 minute walk from George Town on the main island of Exuma in the Bahamas.
Inclusions:
Each suite has a fully equipped kitchen with full size refrigerator, stove, toaster oven, microwave, blender, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and stainless... and we have a barbecue grill on site to grill up your own catch or a steak from the well stocked grocery store just minutes away.
We also provide daily housekeeping service, protected rental boat tie-up, free beach towels, and plenty of books and magazines for the times you aren't off fishing.
Accomodations:
Regatta Point has two buildings with a courtyard between them and gorgeous gardens and views all around. In the building with the white roofs, we have two suites - A & C. In the building nestled in the palms are four suites - #1, #2, #3 and #4. All are one bedroom suites with two twins that make up into a king or just a king bed, except suite #1 which is one large open suite with 2 queen beds or our only two bedroom suite, suite #2, which has a king in the private bedroom and 2 double beds in a large open suite area. Since we have been in operation since 1965, all the cab drivers know where we are and make transportation from the airport is quite simple. The fare is about $25 for two, one way.
To reach us by air, there are a number of cities in the USA that offer direct flights. American Eagle (800-433-7300) flies direct from Miami, FL; U.S. Air flies direct from Charlotte, NC; Lynx (888-596-9247) and Gulfstream fly direct from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Reggie Express, as a charter, also flies from Ft. Lauderdale (954-761-3131) and can arrange a flight most every day except Tuesday.
We can also be reached direct from Nassau, Bahamas, via Bahamasair (800-222-4262 or 242-377-5505) or Sky Unlimited (242-377-8993).
Please check with the airlines as their schedules can change and often vary by season.
Nearby activities and attractions:
Our location is ideal...we are only a 5 minute walk from George Town and all the shops, restaurants, grocery stores, liquor stores and car & boat rental agencies. But we are also in a very private location at the end of a short causeway and with water and views that cover every direction. To the east is Stocking Island, north is the shoreline of Exuma, west is the picturesque village of George Town and looking toward the south is Crab Cay and the marina in George Town.
You can rent a car and explore the island and it's many beaches, take the ferry over to Stocking Island and the beaches on the Atlantic side and the Elizabeth Harbour side, or rent a boat and chart your own course for fun.
There is, of course, fishing... or you can scuba dive, snorkel, swim, sunbathe, shell, or enjoy the water most any way you wish. On island there are trails to hike, historic ruins to explore or vist a nearby village to watch Bahamian boat building in progress. At night many of the restaurant bars feature island music or entertainment. And if you are there in April, you may be visiting when the Exuma Out Island Regatta is being held.
Rates:
Our current rates can be found on our website at www.regattapointbahamas.com by going to our Rooms & Rates page. Additional persons are $20 per night. Children under 6 years of age must stay in downstairs suites with their parents or guardians. There is a 10% tax added to your bill at checkout. Deposit:
A three day deposit is required to confirm your reservation. During the high (winter) season we often require a stay of seven days. Cancellation refunds require a minimum notification of 2 weeks. (Please call 800-688-0309 or 242-336-2206 regarding a cancellation.) Documentation required:
Passports are preferred at customs. If you do not have passports, original, embossed birth certificates plus a photo I.D. is required. Please check with airlines for additional information and for I.D. for children. Other information:
