Situated between the high Peaks of the Tarryall Mountains and the Lost Creek Wilderness and the dense forests of the Puma Hills, the Bison Peak Lodge offers direct access to over 5 miles of private fishing, thousands of acres of National Forest and countless miles of trail. Comfortable and private mountain accommodations, exquisite food, first rate guides and exclusive facility use (for most guests) all add up to create a unique opportunity for a true mountain adventure retreat.
Location: The Bison Peak Lodge and Ute Creek River House are located in the Tarryall River Valley of Central Colorado approximately 75 miles west of both Denver and Colorado Springs and on the eastern edge of South Park.
Inclusions: Rates and Details: Deluxe accommodation packages include facility and terrain use, double occupancy fully outfitted rooms, use of lodge fly fishing gear and 3 hearty meals a day. Cost is $125/person/day. Guides are available for an additional charge through our association with Registered Colorado Outfitter (#1851), Outpost Wilderness Adventure. Complete lodge rental is available for larger groups without meals for $400- $600/day. The Ute Creek River House includes terrain access, use of gear and fully outfitted rooms. The rate is $150/night double and $30/additional person. Meals are available for an additional charge.
Accomodations: Lodge accommodations include 2 queen rooms, 1 twin room and 3 bunk rooms. Two rooms have private baths and the others share. Lodge amenities include living area with fireplace looking right out at Bison Peak, comfortable decks for soaking in the mountain sun, dining room, commercial kitchen, library and bathhouse. Satellite TV and internet access are available. A fully equipped fly tying lab is also available for guest use. Groups of 6 or more are guaranteed exclusive use of the entire facility. The Ute Creek River House has two bedrooms and one bath along with a comfortable living room with fireplace and a full kitchen. The River House is located within a walk of the lodge and directly on the banks of the Tarryall River allowing you to walk out the door and have a fly on the water in a matter of minutes.
Directions: From Colorado Springs: Take Hwy 24 west from the Springs over Ute Pass and then to Lake George. Just west of Lake George take County Road 77 north for 21 miles to the lodge entrance. From Denver: Take Hwy 285 west over Kenosha Pass to Jefferson. Turn left in Jefferson on County Road 77 and proceed 21 miles south (4 miles past Tarryall Reservoir) to the lodge entrance.
Season: The Lodge is open from April 1- November 15 each year. The Tarryall River is generally fishable from April 1- October 1 with some high water typically in late May or early June. Rates: Check out our current rates and availability at reservations.
