Season: We provide guided drift trips on the Bow River from April through October while outings to mountain rivers run from mid-June through October.
Water/Weather Conditions: Be aware that run off from melting snow and heavy rains in the mountains can affect the Bow River in and below Calgary. The end of May through mid-June often sees water levels high and clarity low on the Bow. Heavy rain storms can quickly change water levels and water clarity on mountain rivers and streams. Due to our proximity to the mountains, weather conditions can change rapidly. We suggest you come prepared for a variety of conditions. Rain gear and layered clothing is recommended. For Calgary's current weather conditions and long range weather forecasts check out the Environment Canada website at http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/city/pages/ab-52_metric_e.html
Equipment Used: While most of our clients prefer to use fly rods some are partial to spin casting. A 5 or 6 weight rod will be fine for the Bow River. We do provide heavier rods if you want to do some streaming on the Bow. A 5 weight or lighter rod will do just fine on our mountain rivers. We can provide our clients with both fly and spin casting rods. Waders and felt bottom wading boots are advised, particularly early and late in the fishing season. On hot summer days many fishers choose to wet wade or wear breathable waders.
Rates: Our rates run from $285.00 for a half day Bow River drift to $500.00 for full day outings. 15% discounts are applied to the second and following days that you book. Rates are for one or two fishers. The rates listed are in Canadian dollars. We do not charge the 7% Goods and Services tax (GST).
Deposit: A 50% deposit will confirm your booking.
