All Year! The river is open all year, catch and release only! Some of the best fishing is during late Fall and the Winter months.
Water/Weather Conditions:
Summer months are in the low 80s and winter months are in the upper 30s/low 40s. Cle Elum is in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains so bring a warm set of clothes for time around the camp fire at night. Equipment Used:
Artificial lures only. The Yakima is primarly a fly fishing only river. A 5-6wt rod is perfect. Tippet in the 4 - 7lb range is pretty standard. Rates:
