Fly fishing for redfish in north/west Texas. Come enjoy one of the finest stocked redfish areas in north and west Texas. Fly fishing redfish for the novice or experienced angler is recommended. Yes, this fishing can be done without saltwater on our stockpond.
Equipment, flies & experience. We have the fly fishing equipment, flies and experience to get you started right here in Texas. Our redfish fishing area is stocked with a number of this hearty saltwater species averaging 4 to 6 pounds and above 20 inches in length.
Saltwater or stockpond fishing. We have completed several redfish releases -- most recently in April of this year at our north/west Texas ranch. If you're looking for saltwater fishing or stockpond fishing in north or west Texas call us! You should also feel free to try your hand at fly fishing or baitcast fishing for the redfish after your upland or dove hunt. A fishing boat on the stockpond is available for redfish fly fishing.
Catch and release. Fishing or flyfishing is catch and release, please. ( Relocating the redfish to our north/west Texas ranch is difficult! ) Be sure to bring photographic equipment for your pictures of these stocky Texas redfish! Our bass fishing or fly fishing is also outstanding in the same stock pond areas! We highly recommend you give fly fishing for the Texas redfish a shot at least once during your visit, though. The warmer Texas months seem to provide the best fly fishing or baitcast fishing for the redfish on our stockpond areas (summer and fall). A rainbow trout release is performed for your winter fishing delight at a different stockpond area of our north/west Texas ranch -- although some redfish can still be caught during colder Texas weather. You can now find awesome Texas fly fishing in north / west Texas without the long and expensive trips to Colorado.
Fishing for redfish is complimentary with any hunt!

Accomodations:
Leon River Ranch has a Main House and a Bunk House. The Main House has 3 bedrooms, each accommodating 2 guests. There is a shared bathroom for 2 of the bedrooms and a private bath for the other bedroom. Room rates for the Main House are per night/per bedroom.

There is a common area which houses a TV, fireplace and sofa for your relaxation after a long day on the ranch.
The room rate for the Bunk House is per night. 1 bedroom $75/night
Snacks will also be furnished.

**Rental of 1 or 2 bedrooms or the entire Main House is available.
Directions:
Take I-20 out of DFW. Pass through Eastland and as you enter Cisco take the Hwy. 183 exit. Go through two intersections and turn left at the Church of Christ. Continue down the unpaved road several miles until the road forms a "Y." Stay to the right. The ranch entrance is on the left down several hundred yards.
From West Texas go through Cisco and Exit 183 do a "U' turn back to the Church of Christ and follow the above directions.
