Mistress is a 50 foot Custom Sportfisher with state of the art equipment and every conceivable amenity to ensure the comfort and success of anglers. From Surfers Paradise we fish for Blue Marlin,Black Marlin and Striped Marlin. Blues are available year round at an average weight of 300lb, but the peak period is February to April.Striped Marlin averaging 200lb are present during June/July /August. Blacks to 400lb are an occassional catch year round but in December thru February juvenile Blacks ( averaging 45lb ) frequent the fishing grounds, often in "plague" proportions.
80lb Chair tackle is used for Blues, Stripes and larger Black Marlin. 16lb stand up tackle is used for Juvenile Black Marlin.Overall "Mistress" averages better than one Marlin a day fishing from Surfers Paradise. The best days result to date has been 9 Blue Marlin tagged, 1 blue Marlin released and 1 Striped Marlin tagged.
Because there are no offshore anchorages fishing from Surfers Paradise is day tripping
In the Sept/Nov period "Mistress" operates along the Great Barrier Reef basing as required from either Cairns Cooktown or Lizard Island as required. This is the Black Marlin capital of the world.The average weight approaches 500lb and several over the magic 1000lb are caught every year. Fishing on the GBR is usually on a multiple day liveboard basis with the boat travelling to the best locations as the fish move and anchoring behind the Reef close to the fishing grounds at night. Fishing the GBR is a "total"experience and is regarded as the ultimate fishing experience!

Mistress operates from Surfers Paradise on Australia`s Gold Coast from December thru August and from Cairns/Cooktown/Lizard Island on the Great Barrier Reef September thru November
Inclusions:
We provide all bait and tackle.
On day trips refreshments include sodas, tea and coffee. On overnight trips all the above is included as well as all meals plus wine and beer
Accomodations:
"Mistress" can accomodate up to 9 anglers on a day trip and 4 overnight. Accomodation consists of two double Staterooms and two sigle bunks Transportation:

Surfers Paradise is the centre of one of Australia`s premier tourist locations; the Gold Coast. The are magnificent beaches, three major theme parks( Movie World, Seaworld and Dreamworld) plus the usual shopping and entertainment facilites.
Cairns is the jumping off point for the Great Barrier Reef and is also a major tourist destination. Local features are of course the Reef; and also the Rainforests. The are the usual accomodation and restaurant facilities

We carry a range of custom rods with Penn International and Shimano Reels.The main line classes used are 16lb, 50lb, and 80lb from Surfers Paradise and 130 lb on the Great Barrier Reef Rates:
