Nearby activities and attractions:
Manaus was once called the Paris of the tropics due the wealthy days of the rubber boom. From that era there is a lot of interesting architecture to be seen together with the folklore filled with dances related to ancient indian tribes. The City Market is one or these building abundant in articraft . Several museums are a must: the Indian Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Army Zoo are attractions worth seeing. Good restaurants are also available and Buffalo Burbecue House is something to be seen and a showcase of the Brazilian culture.

Season:
Our season is from mid-October to February. The best weeks are in November-December and January because of the level of the river. Peacock bass ( called Tucunaré by locals) is very sensitive to the movements of the water.

Water/Weather Conditions:
The temperature ranges from 70º to 90º F(25ºC to 34ºC). Rain will be always present in the area which is famous for being the place of highest rainfall level in Brazil. So bring raincoats and SPF 30 or more to be well protected from the sun light. Our region is extremely humid , but nights are cool and very comfortable. The water comes from the river and it is of good quality for human use. To drink you will have mineral water at all times.

Equipment Used:
Be ready to bring 20 pound test lines and medium to heavy equipment. Flyfishing is also outstanding. Spoons , silver and gold are very efficient and we recommend barbless hooks. A 20 pound peacock agressively attacking your lure will add 10 pounds of weight to your line. So be ready to work the fish carefully using light drag and at the same time adjust it to prevent the fish to rush into the weeds and get you in real trouble.

Rates:

U$ 2,850 per week per angler.

Deposit:
A deposit of $ 1,000 is required and balance will be due upon arrival.

Documentation required:
A valid passport and a visa is required as well as health shots. We advise you to contact you local health authority or your physitian  for more details.
Fishing license will be provided and it is included in the price.

Other information:
Bring light T shirts and long sleeves ones to assure good protection agaisnt the sun. Sneakes are also important and be sure to bring your favorite hard drink, other than that it is open bar.Our guides are from local communities and they can speak basic English and they will do their best to help you catch the big ones. They have training in conducting the boats with paddles because as they are skilled in doing that all their lives, the fish will not be scared with the sounds of the electric motor propeller. If you are on a special diet let us know in advance.
