Three Forks Lodge

Situated in the high mountain aspens, Three Forks Ranch straddles the Wyoming Colorado border. This 200,000-acre working cattle ranch is one of the premier fishing destinations in the West. Mountain streams and springs breathe life into the Little Snake River right inside the gate of the Colorado headquarters. The headwaters of this river are home to countless rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout. This fishery has been the beneficiary of the largest privately funded river restoration project in the history of America. Once a drying giant, new life has been given to the Little Snake River. 16 miles of the river has been restored to what Mother Nature may have wished it 150 years ago and 30 oxbow lakes now dot the property, all connected to the river by reopened river channels and all home to wonderful, fighting trout.
Typical week –The first day you and your guide will take off to a stretch of river or lakes and assess your fishing prowess. From there you and your guide will decide which waters you would like to fish. Whether it's catching “big boys” in the lakes or testing your 3-weight rod on the South Fork, Three Forks Ranch has plenty of water for the novice or the purist.  Four-wheeler trips or horseback trips to the upper lakes are available if you choose. For those that would like a break from fishing, cattle drives are usually going on which you are welcome to participate in; trail riding, wildlife viewing, hiking, 4-wheeling, and our 14-course sporting clay course are all available to you.
Season - June 10th  through October 15th

Accomodations:
The River Rock Lodge will provide guests with relaxing enjoyment over hors d'oevres and cocktails followed by delicious dinners served in our guest dining room. The accommodations are very comfortable in our nicely appointed Aspen, Alpine and Hidden Valley homes. We do request that there be no smoking in any of the buildings. Smoking areas are provided on the decks of all the buildings.

The guest facilities are within walking distance to a large portion of this incredible trout water. But, with over 16 miles of private river fishing and 14 miles of off-channel and oxbow fishing, one of the lodge's superb fishing guides will escort you to the farthest reaches. Catering to a capacity of only 15 guests the fishing opportunities are endless. Personalized service, warm Western hospitality, and great fishing are their trademarks
All meals are taken at the River Rock Lodge and scheduled to the angling conditions and where you will be fishing that day. On trips to the more distant fishing locations the kitchen staff will prepare a wonderful picnic lunch. Generally breakfast is between 7-8 a.m.  Fishing times are later as we move into September. After a full day of fishing, you return to the lodge in time to relax before dinner, which is usually served around 6:30. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Alcoholic Beverages:
Three Forks Ranch provides complimentary beer, wine and your favorite mixed drinks. We suggest only moderate drinking before dinner hour. Wading can be dangerous and your guide will decide when excessive drinking has impaired your ability to fish safely. Our elevation at the headquarters is 7200 feet. Alcohol can slow down your body's ability to adjust to the change in altitude. We also recommend that you drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep your first few nights on the ranch.

To get to Three Forks Ranch you will need to make travel arrangements to Hayden, Colorado, with connections through Denver.
