The Royal Coachman Lodge, a fishing lodge in Alaska, sits on the banks of the Nuyakuk river overlooking our home pool, and caters to a maximum of 10-12 anglers per week (and private groups up to 12). Our camp staff numbers 10-12 people. This small number of guests and large staff helps to ensure that you will have the maximum amount of personal service and attention that this truly world class fishing adventure offers.

Nowhere else on earth will you find such a wide variety of sportfish. The sheer numbers of fish that this fishery supports is mind boggling. The area around the Royal Coachman lodge in Alaska that we fish contains all five species of Pacific Salmon: Kings, Silvers, Sockeye, Chum, and Pinks, along with seven species of freshwater gamefish, Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, and Sheefish.

Location:
The Royal Coachman Lodge is an Alaska fishing lodge located in the heart of the world famous Bristol Bay sport fishing region of Southwest Alaska. The Royal Coachman Lodge sits on the banks of the Nuyakuk River, a quarter of a mile downstream from the outlet to Tikchik Lake, nestled in the 1.6 million acre Wood-Tikchik State Park. The park contains 13 lakes that make up two distinct watersheds. The entire northern watershed drains into the Upper Nushagak River via the Nuyakuk River from the outlet of Tikchik Lake.

Accomodations:
We have four finely furnished guest cottages, one and two bedrooms, and private baths. We also have one well appointed bedroom in the main lodge. Each cabin or room has modern bath facilities, independent heat, excellent beds, and all the creature comforts of home, along with spectacular views of the river, and the rapids.  We can sleep 12 guests, so you will have a lot of choices from single cabins, to family cabins.

Transportation:
This area of Alaska is accessible only by floatplante. The Royal Coachman Lodge is 65 air miles north of Dillingham and totally isolated in the midst of a vast Alaskan wilderness. Mother Nature, at her undisturbed best, is our only neighbor!

Directions:
Our weeks are from Sunday to Sunday. You need to plan for a Sunday afternoon arrival in Dillingham, Alaska, where we will pick you up in one of our vans and transport you to our floatplane base for the trip into the Lodge. We have reserved seats for our clients to assure a good rate and seat availability on the Dillingham flight. Please talk with a Royal Coachman Lodge representative or your booking agent before making your final plans. It is worth considering an overnight in Anchorage, Alaska on your way to and from the Lodge. Delta, Northwest, United, and Alaska Airlines all fly to Anchorage daily from most major U.S. and foreign cities. Pen Air provides jet service to Dillingham on a daily schedule.

Season:
June through October

Water/Weather Conditions:
In general, during June and July average temperatures
are in the 60’s to mid 70’s. Temperatures in
the fall are quite a bit cooler and average in the
50’s-60’s. Temperatures can drop into the 30’s and 40’s
at almost any time in Alaska. Keep in mind that Alaska
has unpredictable weather...it is good to always come
prepared.
