Location:
Earth and Water Travel offers trips to Northern Patagonia and North Central Argentina.
Patagonia offers great fishing for Trout, great accommodations and local guides who have fished these waters for many years. We bring our own chef to our location to prepare streamside lunces and dinners at the hotel. We have 5 rivers and 5 lakes to choose from and our guides will select the most productive each day.
North Central Argentina takes us to Dorado country. Known as "Tigers of the River", these fish will test your skills and give plenty of fight. They're know to 'attack' the fly and jump again and again.
Inclusions:
Trips for Trout and Dorado include transport to and from the airport and lodge, all accommodations, guides, 3 meals each day and fine Argentine wines with lunch and dinner.
Not included: International and internal flights, departure tax.
Accomodations:
Our Patagonia lodge is located on the River Alumine. Rooms are available in double or single. Rooms have a view of the river.
Our Dorado lodge is located next to Lake Rio Hondo in the Sangiago Provence. The lodge is a full spa with individual cottages, some with Mineral wter baths. Each cottage has a barbeque and beautiful grounds. There's a 9 hole golf course available and other water sports are available on the lake. The lodge has a swimming pool, bar and cafe.
People come from all over Argentina to experience the spa treatments and the lake activites as well as the fishing.
Transportation:
Flights are easily available from most cities in the US. Flights arrive in Buenos Aires where you wil clear customs. Our representative will meet you there and transport you to the domestic airport for your flight to your final destination.
Flight schedules within Argentina change frequently and it may be necessary for you to stay a night in Buenos Aires. If this is the case we will arrange a hotel and, if you'd like, a tour of the city and a Tango dinner show. (Not included in the price of the trip)
We would be happy to arrange all of your International and domestic flights at no extra charge.
Season:
Trout season opens 15 November and runs through 15 April. Early and later season fishing is best.
Dorado fishing is open all year but we suggest November, late January through March. April can be good but it will depend on the water level and weather. December and early January fishing is very good but the weather is very hot.
Equipment Used:
Please see our web site for specific gear recommendations for Trout. We suggest different flies for each month. Generally a 5 weight rod with floating line is all that's recommended but a sink tip can come in handy.
Dorado will require an 8 or 9 weight rod with floating line. Wire tippet is a must since these fish have very sharp teeth and will cut through Mono.
Rates:
Rates for our Patagonia trips are $2,850 per person per week (5 days of fishing) based on double occupancy
Rates for our Dorado adventure are $2,700 per person per week (5 days fishing) based on double occupancy.
We can provide combination trips and will quote prices on request.
Deposit:
A 50% deposit is required 60 days in advance of your scheduled departure. Documentation required:
A US passport valid for 60 days after your scheduled return is required. No visa's are rquired.
Non US visitors should check with their embassy for details about requirements to enter Argentina.
